About Us
The Church Extension Board is an independent entity incorporated under the Nova Scotia Societies Act. It is supervised by Region 15 of the United Church of Canada. The Board has the sole purpose of holding funds, in Trust, for the United Church of Canada and using these funds to make loans to faith community applicants from within Region15. The specific policies and procedures for the application for and the granting of a loan are further set out in the Loan Information tab. The funds held in trust and those not yet used to fund loans, shall be invested in the manner as outlined by the Board’s Statement of Investment Policies & Goals (SIP&G).

The Board of Directors is comprised of nine members each of who shall be a member in good standing of a Congregation of The United Church of Canada, resident within Region 15. Further, Board membership shall be comprised of three (3) order of ministry and six (6) lay members.
